925 Sterling Silver hand engraved Hurl Pendant with 46cm chain and lobster clasp

Hurling is one of the oldest and fastest field games in the world, deeply rooted in Irish history and tradition. Its origins are woven into Irish mythology, most notably in the 7th-century epic Táin Bó Cúailnge, where the young hero Setanta demonstrates his skill with a camán, striking a sliotar to defend himself—an act that marks the beginning of his legendary story.

The sport continues to play a central role in Irish culture and community life, governed by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), founded in 1884 to preserve and promote Ireland’s native games.

Inspired by this rich heritage, the Hurl (Irish = Camán) Pendant reflects the speed, skill and enduring spirit of hurling. Crafted in silver, the design captures the form of the camán, symbolising strength, tradition and pride.

This piece from the Sport Collection celebrates Ireland’s sporting heritage and the passion that continues to unite communities through the game of hurling.
