Annie Quinn is an Irish jewellery designer from Donegal, creating handmade silver jewellery inspired by Irish culture, music and landscape.
🔹 Inspiration
“I grew up in the heart of Donegal. My family owns a pub, The Glen Tavern, in the Gaeltacht Lár in the Glen of Glenties. It remains an inspirational place that still fills me with joy whenever I return.
The rugged landscape, dotted with traditional cottages, the wild Atlantic air in Narin, the scent of burning turf, and the warmth of the people all left a lasting impression on me.
Above all, it was the music I remember most. It filled the air in our pub, which was a gathering place for musicians from all walks of life, coming together to play late into the night.
These moments shaped who I am and inspired the artisan in me to create the jewellery I design today.”
🔹 Background
I have been working as a jeweller for over twenty years, having studied Jewellery Design at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin. I later trained as an apprentice to Bent Exner in Denmark, specialising in architectonic jewellery design and gilding.
I see jewellery as miniature works of art. While each piece I create is personal to me, I value the way each wearer interprets it and makes it their own. It is important that my jewellery is not only beautiful, but also enjoyable to wear and a meaningful conversation piece.
All silver pieces are hallmarked by the Dublin Assay Office.
